We found the sense of community and fellowship at UUCLV that we had been missing since moving to Las Vegas the year prior. We came to UUCLV during a time of upheaval as we were in the process of growing our family through adoption and each beginning new careers. Our connection with the congregation has brought us not just a larger church family but also services, programs and volunteer opportunities that have enriched our lives and helped us connect with Las Vegas on a more meaningful level. We have found our beacon in the desert.
At UUCLV I have found a truly welcoming, supportive and diverse spiritual community, unlike any other faith-based communities I have previously encountered. Since beginning my attendance at UUCLV, I feel I have become a better listener, and am more aware of community and world issues. I feel more grounded in my beliefs and feel growing resolve in my own process of self-actualization. The Sunday service is an opportunity to pause, reflect and plan to go forward with hope and positive intent in my heart. The minister speaks with an open mind, radiating warmth and acceptance to all her congregants. All are invited and encouraged to participate in a wide-range of programs to connect with the group as well as our surrounding community. Truly a “beacon in the desert”, UUCLV strives to strengthen our spiritual resolve through exploration and personal reflection.
