Working with unaccompanied migrant children in an Emergency Intake Site was one of the most profound experiences in my life.  In this service, I will share my experiences, thoughts and touch on why this happened and ask you to consider how situations like these can be prevented in the future.

You can decorate your trunk and pass out candy.
You can create or help run an activity or game for the trick or treaters (such as a cake walk, pumpkin painting, or ball toss).
If you want to participate but can't make it the day of, we would love donations of decorations or candy.

Let It Shine is a monthly series for our community to grow, learn, explore, and create together. Each time we meet we will explore our monthly theme using a different medium/experience.

Join us for a service dedicated to those seekers and doers who relish an open ended search for truth, meaning, and community.

Sept. 11, 2001, changed more than the skyline of New York City - the attacks changed a generation of Americans, our Army and our world. That day's destruction and devastation did not condemn this country to a future filled with fear. No, this loss, as profound as it was, did not break the soul of this nation. We continue to be a land with many souls striving to be the best they can be!  Join us as we consider all we are and yet may become.

Our Water Communion marks the traditional start of the congregational year, it is a time of ingathering, of coming back together after the summer. This year we can’t meet in person to mingle together the waters we collected over the summer, as has been our tradition for so many years. Instead, you are invited to send a picture or short video (five seconds or less, no talking) of yourself with water, which will be shared as part of the worship service. Since so many people did not travel this summer, the picture could be of water from your sink or travels from a previous year. Please bring a glass of drinkable water and have it nearby you for the ritual during service.

We welcome you to our Death Café. It will be a respectful space where you can feel comfortable sharing your questions, curiosity, fears, beliefs and stories about any/all aspects of death, grief, mourning, bereavement. We have learned that there is often lots of laughter as well as a few tears.

During these sessions we will try writing eulogies, write living wills, consider burial options, cremation, video remembrances, song list for your memorial service and so much more.  This isn't morbid or sad, it is a mature way of looking at the dual reality of our living and having to die.
