Sunday Sessions for Children and Youth
At UUCLV, we feel it is important for children and youth to attend church services. All children & youth join their families each Sunday in the Sanctuary for the first part of the service. This is a wonderful time for families to enjoy music and singing, meditation, stories, and worship together. After our Time for All Ages segment during the service, our children and youth are directed to their Sunday Sessions through the duration of the service. We ask parents and caregivers to reconnecting with their child promptly after the service has ended to enjoy a multigenerational social hour.
Primary Group (K -4 Grade)
These Sunday sessions will introduce the concept of Unitarian Universalist Identity through exploring our Sources and Principles. We will focus on each monthly theme through story, conversation, and activities. Our goal each session is to hear from each participant, listen to their questions, and provide support in their inquiries about what is on their mind.
Secondary Group (6-8 Grade)
This grade group will help lead the way be determining topics that are important to them and relate to their lives, curiosities and challenges both individually and collectively. Through conversation, activities, and imagination, participants will be challenged to learn more about themselves, their peers, and their influence and effect on their world.
Parents/guardians please note: Please respect the time of our volunteer teachers by picking up your child from their learning areas promptly after the service so that everyone can enjoy the morning’s Coffee Hour.
