Building a Community
Please consider lending your spark to our beacon of love and hope in the desert so that we can shine brightly against the tides of fear and resistance. We cannot build this congregation, and this community, without you. Here are some ways you can help.
Help Needed: We have a wonderful archive of past Chalice Circle facilitations. It's time for them to get organized and more widely used as a UUCLV resource.
Our Congregation is collecting aluminum cans to raise money for the general fund. Bring all your empty cans into church and place them in our collection bin located by the coffee bar. We will make periodic runs to the local recycling center and turn cans into cash. Let’s help clean up the environment and help ourselves out.
Interested in connecting with our UUCLV community online? Join our UUCLV Hangout Facebook group! Our Hangout is a group for our members, friends, and frequent attendees to get to know one another outside of Sunday services. It’s a place to share information and have interesting conversations, let your fellow UUCLV’ers know about community events you’re attending, and plan meetups and gatherings outside of church-sponsored activities. You can request to join here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/UUCLVHangout/

General Announcements
Interested in Leading a Worship Service?
The Worship Associates Team & Rev. Gordon have created a “Lay Led Worship Proposal” so that members of the congregation can contribute to the worship life of the congregation. If you are interested in preaching a sermon or leading a worship service, you are welcome to complete a proposal form. The Worship Associates and Rev. Gordon will review your proposal to see how it will fit into the worship calendar and then get back to you to schedule an appropriate Sunday. If you would like to create a proposal, request a proposal form from Rev. Gordon at minister@uuclv.org.
UUCLV Cares: Pastoral Care for the Congregation
Pastoral Care is a ministry of the congregation which provides a confidential, caring presence to congregants undergoing stressful life challenges and assists with as-needed care tasks, such as meals and rides. If there is a member or friend of the congregation who you think might appreciate contact from the Minister or a Pastoral Care Associate, please feel free to email UUCLVCares@gmail.com with the information. All conversations and situations are held in confidence by the Minister and Pastoral Care Associates, unless otherwise requested by the person. If you would like to meet with the Minister, email minister@UUCLV.org or call (702) 437-2404. If you would like to meet with a Pastoral Care Associate or the Minister for accompaniment through a difficult situation, email UUCLVCares@gmail.com. Or you may fill out a Pastoral Care Request Form located in the church building underneath the name tags. Place request forms in the church office or in the mail slot in the church office door. For urgent matters such as a death, sudden critical illness, or hospitalization, contact the Minister at (702)983-4964. Would you like to join the Pastoral Care Team to provide care for the congregation? Contact the minister at minister@UUCLV.org.
