The Unitarian Universalist |
In his younger years, working with youth and adults at Catholic Charities, Job Corps, and the New York City Public School System inspired Reverend Gordon to continue as a community advocate. Recognizing that ministry is his true calling, he completed a Master's of Divinity at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C.—focusing on Urban Ministry and Pastoral Counseling.
At that time, Reverend Gordon forged a deep and long-standing connection to Unitarian Universalism with the U.U. Congregation in D.C. This background—along with his twenty-six years as a UU minister—has prepared him well to serve the multi-faceted needs of the UUCLV community—in Las Vegas, a city with international dynamics that rival those of his birthplace, New York City! The excitement the Reverend brings to UUCLV matches our members' eager anticipation of his installation and ongoing leadership as Minister. We also welcome the Reverend's spouse, Lisa Bailey, who is a fierce social justice advocate.
There will be a virtual installation ceremony via Zoom on Nov. 14th at 1:00 p.m., followed by an in-person reception outdoors at UUCLV at 3:00 p.m.
For the link to attend the Installation on Zoom or RSVP to the in-person reception, email our office staff at [email protected].
UUCLV will be following the National UU Association and CDC-recommended guidelines for COVID restrictions for the in-person event.
We ask that only fully-vaccinated people attend the reception—and wear a mask in the building or when coming in close contact with others.
We look forward to seeing you there!
