We'll discuss toxic masculinity and internalized sexism and how even the best of us continue to make mistakes when it comes to supporting the females and female identifying people in our lives. As Maya Angelou says, Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better. Let's learn how to do better together. Our partners, family and friends deserve it.

"You could not subordinate half the human race unless some of that was internalized,”
-Gloria Steinem
In American society, the most insidious form of sexism isn’t the one we see when we look out at the world, but the one we fail to see when we look inside ourselves. It's internalized sexism, and it's no one's fault but everyone's problem. (USA Today: Alia E Dastagir)
To really recover from toxic masculinity, one must admit that they are sick. I had to admit that I was very sick/conditioned to a system of culture that I had been steeped in since childhood. Then I made a choice. My transformation needed to begin. I had to do the work to get well.

Positive Masculinity versus Toxic Masculinity
Masculinity, in and of itself, is natural, good, and necessary for the survival and evolution of our species. Positive masculinity is how masculine energy—when consciously-calibrated, wisely-timed, and smartly-appropriated—is courageously life-giving, boldly empowering, and fiercely impactful to individual men and everyone else in their lives. Conversely, toxic masculinity is extreme, injurious, ill-timed, and poorly-appropriated.
Dan Griffin, Toxic Masculinity Blogger
5 Ways Every Man Can Challenge the Toxic Culture of Masculinity:
Examine your unconscious biases.
Take a genuine interest in the experience of others.
Take a stand.
Be public about your flexible working.
Be transparent about your health with other men.
